>> Bio (how did you get into the music scene?): Well when I was very little a played the triangle which I found quite thrilling, but after a few years a decided to move onwards and upwards to an intrument which would gain me more recognition for my musical abilities (if there were any... still not sure actually). So of course I started the recorder which I still doodle round on a bit. The recorder showed me the infinite possibilities of emotional expression to be found in music which I found to be inspiring to say the least. I soon started playing trumpet up to grade four which was fun but after the exam I quit for a couple years. This was the period in my life where I turned my back on music resorting to poetry as an outlet for my creative spirit. But it soon became apparent I lacked the flare that I had demonstrated in music and decided to pick up the guitar in 2000. I had lessons for a while from a dude who is now playing with Robby Williams. Ditched me for that loser... dont know what he was thinking. In terms me as a singer... I have never been a good one and dont pretend to be... although you can sometimes get away with it. I really have only been singing for a year since we started our band... because I was playing rhythm guitar I guess I was the obvious person to do it. I had singing lessons for a couple months which I like to think helped a bit. Hippo Eats Dwarf songs are more about the combined whole than the individual intruments, I put emotion into my singing which you often dont get from performers who sound to overly polished. Listen to Strung out and you will see what I mean.
